In an economic downturn, we look at ways to cut costs, and since our babies grow so fast, a great way to save a few dollars and live more sustainably is by shopping consignment. Luckily for us, there’s a great roster of children’s consignment stores in and around Calgary.

Cater Tot Consignment

In Airdrie, there’s a gem of a consignment store at Cater Tot Consignment. Here, you’ll find a great assignment of quality used clothing and gear for babies and tots. In addition to their selection of consignment, we love Cater Tot for their selection of unique accessories and toys. Located at 2002 Luxstone Blvd., Airdrie.

Great Things In Store

Over in Cochrane, you’ll find Great Things In Store, a children’s and women’s consignment boutique carrying gently used brand-name clothing, gear, accessories and more. Like many other consignment stores, Great Things in Store has a lineup of hip products, including organic baby clothing, non-toxic items used for eating and drinking like the Sigg bottles, and more. Huckleberry Kids

A visit to Huckleberry Kids is always worth it. Over in Copperfield/Mackenzie Towne area, the huge store has a great selection of used children’s merchandise. If you’re interested in consigning, they pay you on the spot for items accepted. The highly organized store is located at 15566 McIvor Blvd. SE.

Lullaby Lane

In the heart of historic Inglewood, you’ll pleasantly stumble upon Lullaby Lane, a children’s and maternity consignment clothing store where you’ll find endless rows of gently used clothing for babies and children, and pregnant moms as well. In addition, they carry a small selection of used shoes, baby equipment and some toys. In fact, we picked up a sweet ride for Babyvibe product tester Marley during one trip to the store. For a mere $12, we walked away with a red pedal car practically like new that Marley spent endless hours playing with. Lullaby Lane is located at 1314 – 9 Ave. SE, and they also carry new products as well.

Once Upon a Child

With two franchise locations in Calgary, one can easily say that Once Upon A Child is the hot spot for consignment goods for kids. The location in the south has more than 3,700 square feet filled with gently used clothing, books and toys, furniture, equipment and more for newborn to size 16. At this spot, we have consigned some goods and picked up many used kids books that have all been in fantastic condition at a really reasonable price. Once Upon a Child Varsity location is at 4625 Varsity Dr. NW and the MacLeod location is at MacLeod Plaza 9250 MacLeod Trail SE. Every now and then they have great sales.

Starbright For Kids

In Country Hills, check out Starbright For Kids where you’ll once again find a great selection of quality gently used items, including children’s clothing (newborn to size 8), toys, books, and a lineup of unique new items, including the super adorable Zoobie Pets. Starbright For Kids is located at 309-500 Country Hills Blvd. NE.

Sproutz Kids

Another hot spot for finding great deals on consignment clothing and gear for children is at Sproutz Kids. We’ve made our fair share of visits to the location at Canyon Meadows, and have been impressed with the large space filled with bargains galore. We particularly like their selection of used toys and selection of new clothing and accessories. Sproutz Kids has two locations.
