Is your child buckled in properly?

Not sure if your child's car seat is installed correctly? Keepin' Baby Safe has several inspection clinics where parents can have the opportunity to have their child's seat inspected and installed correctly by a certified technician. In Alberta, four out of five children are not correctly buckled in while riding in a motor vehicle. Increasing awareness and educating parents on the importance of child restraints will reduce the number of injuries and fatalities of young children. Cinderella

Calgary Opera presents Cinderella, a one-act opera for children, Saturday, March 13, 2:30 p.m., at Bert Church Theatre in Airdrie. Tickets are $5 each. To book, call 403-948-8824. Welcome Wagon

Alternative and traditional schooling options

Find out what your options are and what you need to know when it comes to alternative and traditional schooling in Calgary, with an information session, Tuesday, March 16, 6 to 8 p.m., Self Connection Books (new location in Montgomery, 4611 Bowness Rd.). This session will give you a basic overview of both traditional and alternative school options available in Calgary, and compare essential elements of various programs. The two-hour course is designed to teach parents and caregivers about what to do if a child isn't breathing or is choking. You will receive certification through the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
