Storytime at the zoo
The Calgary Zoo presents a free storytime (included with admission), Thursday, June 11, 11 to 11:30 a.m., in the atrium of the Karsten Discovery Centre. The program promotes literacy and animal awareness and is suitable for children three to five years old.
CTrain grand opening soiree
Bring the family down to celebrate the grand opening of Crowfoot CTrain Station, Saturday, June 13, 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The southeast Park and Ride will be transformed into a miniature fair ground with entertainment, activities, and treats for the whole family to enjoy. All the details are online.

The Reynolds Alberta Museum presents Parade through the Century, a two-kilometre highlight of more than 300 cars, trucks and motorcycles, Saturday, June 13 and Sunday, June 14.

Family fun barbecue
GirlTalk presents a family fun barbecue Sunday, June 28, 3:30 p.m., Edworthy Park (site 4). Enjoy lots of family fun, including games, playing at the park, and more. Beef and vegetarian burgers along with cool non-alcoholic drinks will be served. Bring your favourite side dish, salad or dessert to share. There are some picnic tables on site, but if you are more comfortable in your favorite camp chair, bring it along. Cost is $15 for an individual or $35 for a family (which includes up to two adults, and up to four children under 12 years of age). Fall retreat just for you
GirlTalk is holding a fall retreat in Canmore, Sept. 25 to 26 at the Creekside Country Inn. GirlTalk has rented the entire Inn so there will be no interruptions.
