Storytime at the zoo

The Calgary Zoo presents a free storytime (included with admission), Thursday, June 4, 11 to 11:30 a.m., in the atrium of the Karsten Discovery Centre. The program promotes literacy and animal awareness and is suitable for children three to five years old.

Baby Care Fair

The Calgary Health Region is hosting another free Prenatal Baby Care Fair, Saturday, June 6, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Coventry Superstore, 100 Country Village Rd. NE.

Curious George and Sesame Street

Head out to Calaway Park on Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7, for a fun stage show featuring Curious George and Gordon from Sesame Street. Two shows daily and an opportunity to meet Curious George and Gordon.

CFIS community fair

The Calgary French & International School is scheduled to host the annual CFIS Community Family Fair, Saturday, June 6, noon to 4 p.m. For all the details, visit online.

Campus fair

The University of Calgary hosts its annual Campus Fair event, Saturday, June 6, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free barbecue, entertainment, games and activities and much more. Free parking and admission.

Mommy Fair

The Entrepreneurial Moms presents a Spring Mommy Fair, Saturday, June 6, 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., New Brighton Club House, 2 New Brighton Dr. SE.

Children’s celebration workshops

EPCORE CENTRE for the Performing Arts hosts two fun workshops, Sunday, June 7. Lantern making is scheduled for 3 to 5:30 p.m., and kite making is scheduled for noon to 2:30 p.m., at the Arts Learning Centre, Centre Court. Workshops are free but there is a $3 fee for materials. Diamond Valley Discovery and Parade Days

Family fun barbecue

GirlTalk presents a family fun barbecue Sunday, June 28, 3:30 p.m., Edworthy Park (site 4). Enjoy lots of family fun, including games, playing at the park, and more. Beef and vegetarian burgers along with cool non-alcoholic drinks will be served. Bring your favourite side dish, salad or dessert to share. There are some picnic tables on site, but if you are more comfortable in your favorite camp chair, bring it along. Cost is $15 for an individual or $35 for a family (which includes up to two adults, and up to four children under 12 years of age).
