Crib recalls

Stork Craft has voluntarily issued a recall for over one million cribs, due to a potential suffocation hazard. Further details, including contact info for Stork Craft, can be found online. In addition, Health Canada and Dorel Canada have issued a recall on the Olympia 3-in-1 Crib. More than 700 of these cribs were sold at Toys “R” Us stores across Canada. Sweet Stitch

Craft kids over the age of eight are invited to enrol in the Sweet Stitch by Kit & Cadoodle Crafts, a beginner stitch class, starting Monday, Jan. 19, 6:15 to 7:45 p.m., at Mid Sun Community Centre, 50 Midpark Way SE. Learn to create custom gifts for yourself or for your friends. A beginner stitch class that teaches students: hand stitches, crochet and embroidery. Four major projects are completed by the end of the session: Pillow, Stuffed Animal, Scarf and Sock Monkey. Classes run every Monday, cost is $130 or $15 per drop-in. Toymakers Workshop

Learn to make your own toys at the Toymakers Workshop by Kit & Cadoodle Crafts, starting Thursday, Jan. 22, 6:15 to 7:45 p.m., at Mid Sun Community Centre, 50 Midpark Way SE. This workshop is all about showing kids that they can have fun the ‘old school’ way. The children will appreciate toys that they have made by hand. No paper crafts in this class. These crafts are for cuddling and playing with again and again. Stuffed animals, puppets and games. Toys from around the world and toys from long ago. For all ages. Cost is $130 or $15 drop-in.
