Helping Millrise fire victimsLast month, a devastating fire ripped through an apartment building in the southwest neighbourhood of Millrise leaving about 300 people without homes. Thankfully the community is coming together to help out and here's how you can help too. Take it or leave itSouthview Alliance Church is holding a “Take It or Leave It” event. They are accepting children's gently used clothing, small appliances like toaster ovens and crockpots, furniture, and yard tools. As well, it would be great to provide cash donations or grocery store gift cards for food assistance. If you are writing a cheque or donating a money order, please address it to Southview Alliance Church and in the memo area please state it is for Millrise Fire Effort. They will not be accepting food, adult clothing, large appliances, hid-a-beds, music, books, water bottles and ski or golf equipment. Those affected by the Millrise fire will get priority. Donations will be accepted on the following days:
Please note that after Thursday, April 15, the church will no longer be accepting donations. Where to find itSouthview Alliance Church is located at 1436 James McKevitt Rd. SW.
