Skincare saintsWhen our family moved from the West Coast to the Prairies in the middle of a cold winter, our skin was in shock. This was the first time we ever encountered dry, cracked skin and the first time our little munchkin had eczema. Since we like to keep what we put on our skin natural, we asked around the local health stores, and were pleased with what we found. We think we found the best little soap company around. Rocky Mountain Soap CompanyBased in Canmore, AB, Rocky Mountain Soap Company is owned by a couple with two young girls, who have set out to find the “most nurturing and therapeutic ingredients nature has to offer and impart their healing qualities into a collection of 100 per cent natural bath and body products.” Their line of soap is made by hand and they now carry a range of products from soap to body butters, skin care, and more. Why we are dedicated soap buyersNow, we don’t want to get graphic but if you’ve spent a winter in the Prairies, you know how dry, rough, itchy, flaky, and irritated your skin can get. You also know that kids and adults can be prone to eczema in winter months. Instead of opting for steroid-based creams, we recommend trying the Pumpkin Patch Soap and Unscented Body Butter. They are natural and safe for children and adults, and the combination is a hero when it comes to combating dry skin and providing eczema relief. Pumpkin Patch soap contains pure pumpkin pulp which helps protect and soothe sore, rough skin and to prevent flaking. Since our first introduction to the pumpkin patch soap and body butter, our little munchkin has never had a return of eczema, and while living in Calgary, we managed to see a transformation of our skin. Yes, our skin was able to handle the dry, cold winter. Fast forward a couple of years, we are no longer living in the Prairies and are back on the West Coast. However, we continue to always use the pumpkin patch soap. It’s truly amazing and our favourite soap hands down. We’ve also since been introduced to the Tiny Tot Foaming Wash for our kids. It’s a gentle self-foaming soap for tots and babies (we use ours on older kids too) with calming lavender and chamomile. The kids in our household love bath time with the foaming wash. They pump it out and proudly do their own washing. No adult help required. Where to find itThe good news is that Rocky Mountain Soap Company’s products are widely available. You can purchase online at www.rockymountainsoap.com or to find a retailer close to you, visit online as well. By the way, their products make for excellent stocking stuffers. |
