Flip for Mother's Day

In this babyvibe mom’s family we do not own a camcorder. Therefore, we’ve missed being able to record our child’s first words, first steps and other milestones. I’ll never be able to replay those special moments. Well, I finally took charge and decided to check out the latest trend in camcorders.

Flip Video is a line of portable digital camcorders that offer high-definition and standard-resolution models. The purpose of the line is to offer consumers, like me, an affordable and simple way to capture and share high quality video.

Why we like it to make movies

This babyvibe mom recently received a Flip UltraHD to test out and after using it, I don’t want to give it back.

Sure, we have a compact digital camera that does shoot video but the quality doesn’t compare to the Flip Video. I was impressed by the clear picture, great sound quality and how much fun it is to use.

Important to any user, like a busy mom on the go, it’s ultra easy to shoot videos, a breeze to download them, and the Flip is compact enough to fit in the diaper bag or even jacket pocket.

To break it down, the Flip Video is available in Mino and Ultra lines. The Ultra models, which are available in high definition or standard resolution, offer two hours of recording time while the Mino provides one hour of recording time.

The Flip Ultra runs on batteries, which is good for travelling, and is easily recharged by plugging the USB arm into your computer’s USB port. It takes about six hours to charge. The Flip Mino is smaller and a bit sleeker than the Ultra, and has the option of letting you create a customized camcorder.

My only complaint is that the carrying bag tends to leave a dusting of lint on the camcorder.

With a reasonable price tag and exceptional quality, the Flip Video is a camcorder my family can’t afford not to buy.
