Cool to be in Calgary

Sunday’s frigid winter day, if anything, was a reminder that winter in Calgary limits families with little munchkins. After all, extremely cold wind chills leave us breathless and can freeze our skin so we can’t be strolling outside. Written by Paula McGarrigle, we like to think of this book as the perfect reference guide. Now into its second edition, this book keeps getting better. Everything you need to now when it comes to having a baby in Calgary is in this book.

McGarrigle does a great job researching family friendly things to see and do any time of year, tips on having a baby, looking for child care, and much more. The second addition also covers Cochrane, Airdrie, Chestermere, and Okotoks.

When the temperature is chilly, we love to chill at Telus World of Science and the Creative Kids Museum. New this month is the Bob the Builder - Project: Build It. Perfect for children two to six, the interactive exhibit replicates popular elements from Bob the Builder's world, inviting exploration, inspiring teamwork and bringing “eco-friendly” building themes to life for children and families. For the toddler set, WOWtown is a sure hit. With more than 4,000 square feet of playing space, your little tot will be exhausted and happy to nap after playing.
