Hip to wear a tee

At first, this Babyvibe momma wasn’t keen on having my baby wear onesies and tees with little sayings. Let’s just say I wasn’t digging it. But, then came along a couple of local companies, and now we’re hooked on funky tees that make bold statements on little bodies.

Babytease

We’ve been keen on spreading the vibe about Babytease for some time. The reason: we’ve fallen head over heals for their funky t-shirts, onesies, pants, hats and bibs that have cheeky slogans. One of our favourite statements is ‘I walk when you’re not looking’ and probably one of their most popular is the spoof on the Apple iPod: ‘iPood’. We also love the truly unique line of shirts, hats and bibs for twins and appreciate the humour that is found throughout their entire line.

Babytease is made from ethically produced lines, including American Apparel and Kavio and they recently added their own line and label that is produced in Vancouver. Their clothing is good quality and after copious washes, the slogans still appear bold with no fading.

Ever since Babytease made its debut at a kiosk in Oakridge Mall in Vancouver almost two years ago, the line has continued to grow and they now offer online shopping through their site at www.babyteasewear.com. For those looking to pick up a baby shower gift, we highly recommend one of their gift boxes.

Smitten Baby

Here at Babyvibe, we were definitely smitten when we saw this line of t-shirts. Smitten Baby t-shirts are produced with all original art and printed on two styles of high quality, vintage cotton. New moms Kelly Hurley and Karey Wood developed the line of t-shirts that contain positive messages like ‘live life, love life’. Without a doubt we love the look and feel of the shirts. Not only are they funky and unique but they are also inspiring. In addition to the adorable t-shirts and onesies for little ones, Smitten Baby offers funky threads for pregnant moms and dads.

Check out a fabulous Mexx and Deux par Deux sample sale at the Lynda Forbes Enterprises, 217-1868 Glen Dr., Vancouver, in the GX Building across from Home Depot, on Monday, March 3, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Tuesday, March 4, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sizes available are: boy and girl 3-6 months; 9-12 months; boy and girl 6 months and 12 months; boy and girl 5 and 6 years; and girls 12 years. There will be a lot of outerwear. Samples are all from the spring and fall 2008 collection. Cash sales only please. There is no bank machine on site.
