Let’s party in a "green" way!

Here at Babyvibe, when we think about having parties for our little ones, our minds eventually turn to unpleasant thoughts of the post-party wrap-up: madly stuffing non-recyclable plastic and single-use decorations into green plastic garbage bags, and handing out junky party favours that were made neither locally nor with sustainable materials. At the end of the day, how could we feel good about celebrating in such an environmentally unfriendly way?

The vibe

Fortunately, we can now turn to the eco-friendly experts at Green Planet Parties for help with our “party predicament.” The online store was recently started by two local moms who were inspired by their growing frustration with the lack of sustainable options available within the highly-commercialized world of children’s parties. Like many of us, they were tired of the guilt that went along with the eco-unfriendliness of children’s’ parties, so one day they joined forces and embarked on a quest for fresher, greener alternatives. After much discussion, sourcing and research, Green Planet Parties was born.

Green Planet Parties is a web-based business which, in their own words, “offers options for families looking to host more sustainable parties and events with biodegradable, compostable and reusable tableware and decorations, as well as thoughtful, usable and sustainable goodie bag items.” Favourite items include the hip reusable decorations, and the selection of carefully-chosen goodie bag items aimed at the under-three crowd. We also love that their site is loaded with gorgeous real-life photos, and lots of tips for hosting an earth-friendly party. Furthermore, we love that all these goodies are available with just a few short clicks and don’t require a single car trip to the mall. With Green Planet Parties finally here to help, our dreams of guilt-free and greener parties might finally come true.
