Tuesday, August 19, 2008 - B.C. and Calgary edition What's the vibe today . . .Accessorize this At Babyvibe, we all have little girls so we tend to gravitate toward cute, girlie things. That’s why this particular vibe on accessories is a little biased for little girls. However, we do have the scoop on a couple of accessories for junior too. Bugalug Baby Bugalug is making an impact in the accessory department with their stay-put accessories for girls. Last year, we gladly told you about their fun barrettes that stay put. Now, the Alberta mom behind Bugalug has come up with a super cool accessory. Check out their adjustable ribbon headbands that will fit any head from infant to adult. All you need to do is slide the toggle in place and the headband is secure. We like the idea of sharing hair accessories with our girls that are cute enough for them but hip enough for us. For a list of retailers, visit Bugalug online. Angel Lily When we received a batch of the most adorable bows for little girls, we knew we had our hands on a great product. Babyvibe product tester Marley, 3, recently vetoed any accessories in her hair. That was until she saw the bows from Angel Lily. A little princess who always wears dresses, Marley immediately fell in love with their collection. Now she eagerly wears their clips. In addition to being perfect for little princesses, Angel Lily Baby and Toddler Bows are made with toxic-free glue, and the lead-free metal clips cannot be chewed to shreds or swallowed. As a big bonus, after hours of playing at the park they actually stay in! Angel Lily bows are designed by a Canadian mom, and are currently available online at Angel Lily. More barrettes to boast about The evolution of hair accessories continues with sweet clips from Little Miss Clips, another company by a Canadian mom. The clips that feature sweet embellishments are designed to stay in fine baby and barely-there toddler hair, but are also suitable for girls of all ages. In addition to looking lovely in little girl’s hair, we think that these clips make for great items to add to party loot bags. Another Canadian mom makes Kula Klips, hip klips for girls over the age of three. Available in dozens of cute styles, the magnet free hair barrettes are made with non-toxic glue. Hold up the pants ‘Droopy drawers no more’ is the slogan for Tiny Bigs, a safe alternative to belts and suspenders for babies six to 18 months old. A magnetic clip keeps your babe’s pants up and attached to the shirt with a cute appliqué on the outside of the shirt that clasps to the magnet beneath. It’s an easy way to kiss goodbye to ‘droopy drawers.’ A practical yet fun idea. Myself belts For the older set, toddlers and older, Myself Belts, are cute little belts that children can fasten by themselves. We recently scooped up a sweet ballerina belt for product tester Marley, and she definitely likes the way it makes her feel like a big kid. The belts are easy to fasten and unfasten, and a great way to keep up pants, especially for little ones just out of diapers. For a list of retailers, visit online. Win a wireless printer!
